GORDAN BENNETT ,RECYCLE we all know about this by now....... well our jars made of glass so can be recycled ....... important for everyone's future , especially our younger ones coming up behind us with ever reducing resources.......
SO to this, one can also help with wastage ..... how much food goes in the bin which you can eat ...... well with a lot of people its so easy to throw it away instead of working out how to reuse it or be bothered to put a little effort in to creating another meal and in these times why not ......
Very simple one after a chicken roast ..... theres always meat on the carcass throw this in a big pot cover in water and boil...... about 30mins then remove carcass and remove the rest of the meat off it ....... add back to the water WHICH NOW IS A STOCK OF SORTS add into to this left over veg , roast potatoes ..... etc.... were getting the base for a soup or stew . Even the gravy can go in this one.... add cream or milk etc.....
Another great roast slow roasted pork ..... once shredded left overs of this can go on next day add with a bbq sauce as for sticky dickies then you have shredded pull pork ideal with jackets or stick in a crusty baguette. Or for other pork make like a italian stew .... fry up some onion, add garlic , soften sweet potato in micro , diced then chuck into pan , add carrott, anything else you have around ..... add your gravy diluted with hot water, a tin of chopped toms. ,give it a good stir add more water if needed , left over dribbles of wine or cider , good squirt of tom. puree and any remaining apple sauce you may have made. Let this cook through for about 20mins, keep stirring add chopped up bits of pork, potatoes and veg you have left... add a handle of shaped pasta or 2 depending on size of all.... keep cooking till pasta cooked ,can put in the oven ti finish off or keep warm . Serve with homemade italian bread n butter or buy the bread.... try Eden project bread really good
Beefy bits if shredded or fine cut make into battered beef to go with a sauce as in chinese or stir fried beef ... or even stuffed pitta bread......
